Touching Strangers Blog Post

I found Touching Strangers by Richard Renaldi to be very fascinating in how we can take pictures of others and how we interact with each other. Here is a guy who takes portraits of others, but pair with people that you would never think would work, but somehow it does. I liked how Renaldi can take the streets and can transform photos like it. I would consider him a good street photographer, as he can take pictures in the urban environment, but also he takes the time to also setup his own make shift studio in the basketball court. I thought the old woman was very inspiring as she was able to be photographed along with the guy who had not had his picture taken in years. I thought that was special. I contribute Renaldi’s energy paramount in this project. I do wonder if he just likes working with people first, and a photographer second.

This video kind of inspires me to do my photobooth and potentially do it with strangers as opposed to just random people, having people you would never expect to be in a photograph. I still have to find a good location to do it!

I did not dislike much if any of this video. I did think it was weird to pair others at first, but it is one of those things that has to grow on you, and watching the video made it so I could grow to it. I am not sure if this could only work in areas other than the street, or in a studio.

In the end, I really enjoyed Touching strangers!
